26

This is a hard story to write, but not because of the information. It's what we're not saying that I hope you hear loud and clear.

She has grown kids and a younger one with significant health challenges. Guest #26 is also disabled, both by her physical condition and by the fear that she lives with.

She's a Chattanooga native. Attended Chattanooga schools and college. She worked as long as she was physically able. She'd still love to find a part-time job that she could handle. Her income is $1067, and this month she ran short.

She came to MetMin today because her electricity was disconnected. She could pay some, and we paid some. It's lights on tonight!

She has something to tell you.

"This violence needs to stop. Love each other. Everyone needs to calm down. There are too many guns - the police, the people, everyone. Why shoot when there's no threat? Why shoot just to shoot, because you can?

The protests? They're not protests. It's just more violence.

Chattanooga and the nation need to come together. People need to stop singling each other out. Our young boys need a family, not gangs. Where's the family?

Ya'll here at MetMin are good, loving people and you do good work. You help a lot of people. But MetMin can't stop this violence or make me feel safe when I get back home.

This violence needs to stop."
